APSC Recruitment 2023 Overview

The Assam Public Service Commission has issued three employment notifications for recruiting 10 positions including Conservation Officer, Assistant Director, and Director in different government departments of Assam. 1. Director of Economics & Statistics:

• Number of Posts: 1
• Category-wise Vacancy: UR: 1
• Department: Transformation and Development Department, Government of Assam
• Scale of Pay: Rs. 30,000/- to 1,10,000/- with Grade Pay: Rs. 16,900/-
• Age Limit: 35 to 45 years (Assam Economics & Statistical Service candidates have no upper age limit)
• Educational Qualification:
  • 2nd Class Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Degree with relevant subjects and Diploma recognized by Govt.
  • A doctorate or Other Research Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or economics is desirable.
  • Not less than 10 years of experience in Statistical Works/investigation/Research and administrative experience for 5 years.

2. Assistant Director:

• Number of Posts: 8
• Category-wise Vacancy: UR: 5, OBC: 1, SC: 1, STP: 0, STH: 1
• Department: Directorate of Town & Country Planning, Assam under the Department of Housing & Urban Affairs
• Scale of Pay: Rs. 30,000/- to 1,10,000/- with Grade Pay: Rs. 13,300/-
• Age Limit: 21 to 38 years
• Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Planning from a recognized University/institution with specialization in relevant fields.

3. Conservation Officer (Gr II):

• Number of Posts: 1
• Category-wise Vacancy: OBC/ MOBC: 1
• Department: Directorate of Archaeology, Assam under Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Cultural Department
• Scale of Pay: Rs. 22,000/- to 97,000/- with Grade Pay: Rs. 9,400/-
• Age Limit: 21 to 38 years
• Educational Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering from a government-recognized institute.

Criteria of APSC Recruitment

Citizenship: Candidates must be Indian Citizens as per the definitions outlined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

Age Relaxation *: The following age relaxation is applicable based on categories:

• SC: 5 years
• ST: 5 years
• OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years

1. The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
