Admission Process

As per the official notification, starting from the session 2024-25, there will be no Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT). Admission to the various polytechnic courses will be based on marks obtained in the HSLC Exam, with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects.

Admission Requirements for Polytechnic Courses in Assam 2024

Resident-ship:

• Citizenship: Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam.
• Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC): Must be produced at the time of counseling. Provisional admission is allowed with PRC Application Receipt and submission of an undertaking to provide the final PRC within 60 days. Failure to submit the PRC within this period will result in the cancellation of the seat.

Educational Qualification:

• Examination: Candidates must pass the HSLC (or equivalent) examination in a single sitting.
• Subjects: Mathematics and Science must be compulsory subjects.
• Pass Requirements: Candidates must pass both Theory and Practical examinations in Mathematics and Science.

3. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate: For OBC/MOBC and the six communities under OBC/MOBC.
4. Freedom Fighter Certificate: Certificate issued by the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister or the Home and Political Department and a relationship certificate from the concerned Deputy Commissioner.
5. Retired Defense Personnel Certificate: Certificate from the Director, Rajyik Sainik Board, Assam, for sons/daughters of retired defense personnel.
6. Central Government Employees Certificate: PRC from the concerned state authority outside Assam and a service certificate of the father/mother from the concerned authority located in Assam.
7. Physically Handicapped (PH) / Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Certificate: Identity Card for differently abled individuals issued by the Social Welfare Department, Assam.
8. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) Certificate: Valid EWS certificate.
9. Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Certificate: Annual Income Certificate issued by an authority not below the rank of Revenue Circle Officer.
10. Sports Quota Certificate: Certificate from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam.
