Requirements for Indian Air Force Recruitment

Age Eligibility: Candidates born between June 27, 2003, and December 27, 2006 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply for Agniveer Vayu posts. If a candidate successfully completes all selection stages, the upper age limit at the time of enrollment is 21 years.

Educational Qualification:

For Science Subjects:

  • Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized Education Board with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English. OR
  • Completed a Three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from a recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English in the diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Diploma Course). OR
  • Completed a Two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects Physics and Maths from recognized State Education Boards with 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English in vocational courses (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational courses).

For Other Than Science Subjects:

  • Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent in any subject recognized by Education Boards with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English. OR
  • Completed a two-year vocational course from recognized Education Boards with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English in vocational courses (or Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational courses).
Mandatory Medical Standards:

General Medical Standards for Agniveer Vayu are as follows:

  • Height: The Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cm (for Male candidates) and 152 cm (for Female candidates).
  • Chest: The chest should be well proportioned with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cm.
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
  • Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable—visual requirements as per Indian Air Force standards.
  • Hearing: Normal hearing ability, able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
  • Dental: Healthy gums, good teeth set, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
  • General Health: Candidates should have normal anatomy without loss of appendages, free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection, and skin ailments. Candidates should be physically and mentally FIT to perform duties in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

Online Test of Indian Air Force Recruitment 2023

For candidates who have applied for Agniveer Vayu positions, the following information is relevant regarding the Online Test:

  • Eligible candidates will receive provisional admit cards for Phase – I testing via their registered email IDs. This will happen between 48-72 hours before the examination.
  • Candidates should download the admit card, print it in color, and bring it to the examination center.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for Indian Air Force Recruitment

The names of the candidates who pass the online test will be listed on the CASB Web Portal: https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in. On a specific date, these shortlisted candidates will be summoned to the designated ASC (Airmen Selection Center) for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Test-I, and Adaptability Test-II. The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) comprises two segments: PFT-I and PFT-II.

PFT-I: Candidates are required to accomplish a 1.6-kilometer run within the time limits mentioned below to qualify for PFT-II:
