Eligibility Criteria of SSC Translator Recruitment
The eligibility criteria for SSC Translator Recruitment positions are as follows:

Age Limit:
Candidates must be between 18 to 30 years of age as of 01.08.2023. This means candidates born not before 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.2005 are eligible to apply.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwD (Unreserved): 10 years
- PwD (OBC): 13 years
- PwD (SC/ST): 15 years
Educational Qualification:
For Posts 1 to 3 (Junior Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Hindi Translator (JHT)):
Master’s degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
Master’s degree from a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
Master’s Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.
and
Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
For Post 4 (Senior Hindi Translator (SHT)/ Senior Translator (ST)):
Master’s degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
Master’s degree from a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
or
Master’s Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.

Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
