Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Civil Services (Prelims) Examination

Age Limit:

  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • They should not be more than 32 years old as of August 1, 2024.
  • The candidate’s birth date should fall between August 2, 1992, and August 1, 2003.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST candidates can avail of a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit.
  • OBC candidates can avail of a relaxation of up to 3 years in the upper age limit.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must possess a degree from any university recognized by the Central or State Legislature in India.
  • Alternatively, they should have graduated from educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared as deemed universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
  • Equivalent qualifications are also acceptable.
