1. Postal Assistant:
   • No of posts: 598
   • Pay: Level 4 (Rs 25,500 – Rs.81,100)
   • Educational Qualification: a) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University. b) Knowledge of working on a computer.
2. Sorting Assistant:
   • No of posts: 143
   • Pay: Level 4 (Rs 25,500 – Rs.81,100)
   • Educational Qualification: a) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University. b) Knowledge of working on a computer.
3. Postman:
   • No of posts: 585
   • Pay: Level 3 (Rs 21,700 – Rs.69,100)
   • Educational Qualification: a) 12th standard pass from a recognized Board. b) Should have passed the local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division as one of the subjects in 10th standard or above. c) Knowledge of working on a computer. d) Valid license to drive a two-wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle (For the post of Postman only). Persons with Benchmark Disability are exempted from the possession of a license.
4. Mail Guard:
   • No of posts: 3
   • Pay: Level 3 (Rs 21,700 – Rs.69,100)
   • Educational Qualification: a) 12th standard pass from a recognized Board. b) Should have passed the local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division as one of the subjects in 10th standard or above. c) Knowledge of working on a computer. d) Valid license to drive a two-wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle (For the post of Postman only). Persons with Benchmark Disability are exempted from the possession of a license.
5. Multi-Tasking Staff:
   • No of posts: 570
   • Pay: Level 1 (Rs 18,000 – Rs.56,900)
   • Educational Qualification: 10th standard pass from a recognized Board.

Eligibility Criteria of India Post Recruitment

Age Limit:

• Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant/ Postman/ Mail Guard: Candidate age must be between 18-27 years.
• Multi-Tasking Staff: The Candidate’s age must be between 18-25 years.

Age Relaxation:

• Relaxation in the upper age limit of five (5) years shall be allowed in each case.
• Additionally, relaxation in the upper age limit of five (5) years shall be allowed only to candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) in each case.
• Therefore, a total of 10 years of age relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST only.

Sports Qualification: A candidate shall be considered as a meritorious sportsperson for the purpose of recruitment under this notification with reference to the following criteria:

• Sportspersons who have represented a State or the Country in the National or International competition in any of the sports/games mentioned in the notification.
• Sportspersons who have represented their university in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any of the sports/games mentioned in para 7 of the notification.
• Sportspersons who have represented the State School teams in the National Sports/Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the sports/games mentioned in para 7 of the notification.
• Sportspersons who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

Selection Process of India Post GDS Recruitment

The selection process for India Post GDS Recruitment consists of the following stages:

1. Preparation of Merit List:
   • Candidates who fulfill the conditions and possess certificates in the prescribed form issued by the competent authority, as mentioned in the official notification, will be eligible for inclusion in the provisional merit list.
   • The merit list will be prepared based on their preferences for both Cadre and Postal Circle, up to the number of vacancies notified for each Cadre (Post).
2. Cadre/ Circle Allotment:
   • A candidate will be considered for the first preferred cadre for all opted Postal Circles, followed by the 2nd preferred cadre for all opted Postal Circles, and so on.
   • The candidate will not be considered for cadres/Postal Circles not opted by him/her.

Note:

• The provisional merit list will be prepared solely based on the information provided in the online application portal, and no additional information will be entertained in offline mode before the preparation of the provisional merit list.
• Candidates are advised to provide details only about their highest participation/achievement in sports. For instance, if a candidate has participated in both National and International events, they should submit details of all such International events for which they have a valid Form-1, and they need not provide details of all other achievements.
